The Statics Support The DLM!
4 October 2013
We're proud to announce that The Statics will be supporting our Cricket Pop Heroes for their shows in Dublin and Belfast.
Featured Video: The Statics performing 'Alone' live at NearFM.
Formed in late 2010, The Statics are a four-piece Dublin outfit consisting of Liam Gardner (Lead Vocal/Guitar), Daragh O’Connell (Backing Vocal/ Guitar), Jacqueline Campion (Drums) and Thomas Nugent (Bass Guitar).
Mixing the pop sensibilities of the Beatles, the snarling vocals of The Arctic Monkeys and not forgetting the rhythmic acoustic guitars of the Everlys (and hopefully their harmonies!) The Statics are a truly powerful force live and on record. The Statics sound clocks in somewhere between The La’s, The Arctic Monkeys, The Kinks and the Coral; all this without losing their own vision, imagination, originality and downright danceability. Their demo was recorded in Dublin's Qube Studios using analogue equipment and one computer for one little tiny second!
Their debut release was the single ‘Holiday’ which was recorded live at Westland Studios with the renowned Alwyn Walker, released November 2012.
This was followed up with their debut EP ‘Hidden Pigeon’ released April 20th 2013 and available from iTunes & Tower Dublin.
The Statics are busy gigging all over Ireland and will continue to do so promoting their debut EP. With invitations to play festivals such as Sea Sessions, Casltepalooza, Vantastival and Ballinamore Fringe Festival under their belt, 2013 is going to be an exciting year for The Statics.
